Rudy wants to play for the most renowned American college football program of the time, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. However, there is a big challenge: Rudy is tiny and very slow. Notre Dame recruits only the fastest, biggest, and strongest athletes.

Rudy, despite all the challenges and tribulations he faces, realizes his dream and plays in a game for Notre Dame.
